MALAWI - Colin Webb officially opened Mpala Children's Oasis.
MALAWI - Joan D'Souza held carers' meetings in all the centers to discuss behavioural changes.

MALAWI - This year eight of the Roche employees top fundraisers from around the world visited the project.
MALAWI - Colin Webb monitored the project and met with all stakeholders including UNICEF.

LONDON - 07 May - Joan D'Souza attended the Focus Group on Sexual Health Needs Assessment at St Charles Hospital.
BRUSSELS - Colin Webb will be attending the EFPIA Think Tank Meeting on the Revision of the Animal Experiments Directive.
MALAWI - Joan D'Souza will be carrying out monitoring and preparations for the RE&ACT top fundraisers visit.

April 2008

MALAWI - The borehole at Mpala is now completed.
MALAWI - Despite good rains last year and a good harvest, the prices for maize continue to rise. We are purchasing 200 bags of maize.
LONDON - 23 April - Joan D'Souza and Colin Webb will be attending the Counterfeiting (of medicines) Superhighway Meeting at Chandos House

March 2008

MALAWI - KPMG audit of the Malawi project was successfully completed on time. It was concluded with a visit to Chambe.
MALAWI - The secondary students from Chiuta and Tipewe went on a school trip to Blantyre.
MALAWI - The first set of ducks (one male and one female) was given to Chiuta.
MALAWI - A pilot scheme is running at the centres which feed children. The meals are supplemented with Matemba (fish) twice a week .

February 2008

LONDON - Everyone in the office is busy planning for this year's work and preparing budgets for 2008/2009.
MALAWI - The project's work is being hampered by the very heavy rains this year. Nevertheless, the team is managing to distribute food to the centres even though the road conditions are extremely bad.

January 2008

MALAWI - Colin Webb inspected construction works at Mpala. Joan D'Souza made preparations for the annual audit.
MALAWI - Mabel, the pig at Chambe gave birth to a litter of six piglets. Mother and off-spring are thriving.
